So without further ado here are 12 activities to try out near your Santa Clara apartment.

Check out a Chalk Art Festival

On Saturday September 16th Backesto Park will be hosting the 2017 Luna Park Chalk Art Festival. For the 10th year in a row the Luna Park Chalk Art Festival with be held from 10:00am to 5:00pm with over 3,000 artists and vendors. Here you will come across over 250 works of art throughout the park. All proceeds benefit the Luna Park Arts Foundation. If you have time, make sure you stop by and checkout cool art, all while supporting a good cause in the Santa Clara/San Jose area.

Glow Up with Friends

You may have heard of the phrase “glow up” but never in this context! About 20 minutes from your Santa Clara luxury apartment is Miss Ooh Lala. Throughout the year Miss Ooh Lala hosts several themed painting parties. From Mommy & Me Unicorn Paint to Vogue Pumpkin Paint Night, Miss Ooh Lala has it all. But on October 1st, you won’t want to miss the Neon Glow Owl Paint Party. This specially themed party ends with the black lights turned on and your painting brought to life.

Check out the Winchester Mystery House

If you’re in for an adventure make sure to check out the Winchester Mystery House. It is completely free to visit the grounds and check out the gift shop. If you dare to take it a step further and take the tour, your cost will be $40 a ticket. While it may be on the pricier side, this is an experience you won’t soon forget.

Flamenco a Go-go

If you are into the art of dancing you won’t want to miss the 25th Anniversary production of “Arte Flamenco”. From 3:00pm to 5:00pm on Sunday October 1st, at Santa Clara University various artists, musicians, singers and soloists will pay tribute to the dance, song and music of Flamenco. Partake in Wine Wednesday in the Park

A few minutes away from your Santa Clara apartment is a one-of-a-kind experience. A Wine & Painting in the Park event will be held at Plaza de Cesar Chavez on Wednesday October 4th from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. What’s in it for you? Free painting supplies and the opportunity to do some drinking in the park! All you have to do is reserve your spot here and admission is free! You will have to pay for the wine but the great thing is that even if you don't participate in the painting class you are still welcome to go over and check out the wine selection.

Go See a Movie

I know what you may be thinking, “what is this doing on the list?!”. If you think about it, when is the last time that you actually went to go see a movie in an actual movie theater? Nowadays, most people stream movies whether it is on Netflix, Hulu or some other streaming service. It has become more of a norm to watch a movie on netflix over going to an actual movie theater. So next time a movie comes out that you're interested in, why not go to your local Santa Clara theater like AMC Mercado, and try out the movie theater experience.

Stop and Smell the Roses

Starting September 22 California’s Great America will host a Halloween Haunt with a variety of mazes, scare zones and shows. In total there will be nine different themed mazes and three scare zones. You will also be five shows, one of which is a sideshow! Depending on the day you go tickets start as low as $29.99.

K1 Speed

If you have the need for speed, well the name of this business speaks for itself. Here both novice and experienced drivers can hit the race track and hit the pedal to the metal! With speeds as high as 45 mph, this not your typical go-kart race. Just minutes from your Santa Clara apartment, K1 Speedway is the perfect place to let loose with friends. A genuine race experience, K1 is open 7 days a week and closes at midnight on Fridays and Saturdays.

Solve a Puzzle

Now this isn't just any ordinary puzzle this is an Escape Room puzzle. A few minutes away from your Santa Clara apartment is the Beat The Lock Escape Rooms. For those who are not familiar with escape rooms: it is an adventure game where the participants/players work together to solve a series of puzzles using clues in order to escape in the time allotted. The one thing that you may run into is a bit of a wait due to the high demand of playing in the park. Of course, it all depends on the day and time that you go.
