Breathe in the Fresh Air at Anderson Lake County Park

February 15, 2017

Spring is already in the air, and you know what that means: it’s time to enjoy the great outdoors!

Fortunately for anyone who lives in luxury apartments in Santa Clara, there’s a phenomenal outdoor experience just a few miles away at Anderson Lake County Park.

Named after the famed conservationist Leroy Anderson, the Anderson Reservoir was approved and construction began in 1949. Ever since then, it’s been responsible for a whole network of linked reservoirs for groundwater recharge that have led to amazing recreational facilities.

The 3,100-acre Anderson Lake County Park offers a huge range of opportunities, including everything from picnicking to waterskiing on a 7-mile-long lake.

For runners, hikers, bicyclists, and even skaters, the park features a 15-mile-long paved trail that connects Anderson Lake to Coyote Hellyer County Park. And if you feel like riding a horse, you could rent one for the day to travel along an 8-mile horse trail that runs parallel to the paved trail.

If you have a boat, you have no reason not to drive down from your Santa Clara apartment to Anderson Lake County Park. There’s no shortage of exciting water sports to enjoy, nor a lack of great spots to relax in a gorgeous setting once you’re finished.

And if you’re an avid fisherman, you might be interested in catching some of the lakes most prominent fish: bluegill, crappie, catfish, sunfish, and largemouth bass!

Whether you’re a homebody or an outdoorsman, everyone needs their fresh air!

So, get your family and friends together for a great day spent under the sun at Anderson Lake County Park.
