Have Some Summer Fun at Santa Clara Central Park

July 28, 2016

It may be hard to imagine leaving the comfort of your luxury Santa Clara apartment, but if you do, you should absolutely check out the beautiful Santa Clara Central Park. Here’s why:

Santa Clara Central Park is a sprawling 52-acre park commissioned in 1960 by the city of Santa Clara to meet the recreational needs of the area’s ever-growing population.

The park itself is a showcase to artistry in design, with well-defined recreational facilities and private spaces, incredible attention to detail, and a diverse landscape.

In front of Central Park – along Kiely Blvd. – fly 57 U.S. flags on designated holidays. These flags make up the City of Santa Clara’s “Avenue of Flags,” and are definitely a sight to be seen.

The park has two major sections by Saratoga Creek that are connected by a broad pathway, with a great big two-acre lake at its center. Near the lake are redwood groves, meadows, a huge open air pavilion, and a serene wooden pergola.

Other features of the park include:

  • Picnic areas
  • BBQ pits
  • Public restrooms
  • Swimming pool
  • Basketball courts
  • Tennis courts
  • Softball fields
  • Multiple play areas

Alongside these permanent features is a regular stream of awesome events for the public. The Central Park holds many seasonal events, like the recent 4th of July Picnic and Fireworks Extravaganza, as well as the upcoming annual Art & Wine Festival.

And if you’re a lover of live music, the City of Santa Clara’s Concerts in the Park series provides a fun and free experience multiple times a year for people of all ages.

So, if you’re looking for a reason to enjoy life outside of your Santa Clara apartment, call your loved ones and plan a trip to Santa Clara Central Park!
