Sky High Sports

Admit it. You loved jumping on trampolines as a child (and you might even still love it today!).

You’re not alone. Trampolines are well-loved because they offer a great way for an entire family to enjoy each other’s company and act silly together.

If that sounds good to you, take your family to Sky High Sports this weekend.

This Santa Clara trampoline park features dodgeball, a super-sized foam pit, a café, an arcade, and of course, lots of trampolines!

If you’re celebrating your child’s birthday soon, you can host the party at Sky High Sports, and the birthday kid is free.

As far as their standard pricing, $13 will buy you an hour of time at the park on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Any other day of the week, you can expect to pay $13 for the first hour and $6 for each additional hour.

California’s Great America

We all love theme parks. Between the amazing food, the breathtaking shows, and the thrilling rides, there’s something for everyone to do!

That especially applies to California’s Great America, a 100-acre theme park located in Santa Clara. Here are a few things you and your family can do at the park:

  • Explore rides and attractions – You’ll find plenty of thrill rides like Flight Deck, a suspended jet coaster. If you’re not much of an adrenaline junkie, you can enjoy family rides, including the Rip Roaring rapids.
  • Visit Boomerang Bay Water Park – This park features waterslides, cabana rentals, and more. Perfect for a summertime staycation!
  • Check out Planet Snoopy – In this part of the park, you and your family can meet Snoopy, Charlie Brown, and your favorite PEANUTS™ characters. Plus, there are plenty of themed rides and attractions, many of which are specifically made for smaller children.
  • Enjoy live entertainment – See an updated list of the live stage productions currently showing at the park here.

If you decide to visit California’s Great America, be sure to wear shoes you’ll be comfortable walking around in all day. And don’t forget the sunscreen!

Fremont Park

At this seven-acre park, you’ll find a playground, plenty of tables where you can enjoy a picnic, and an outdoor volleyball net. It also features a rose garden if you’re looking to take a leisurely mid-day stroll while enjoying nature.

While smaller than many other parks in the area, Fremont park still has plenty of playground equipment to keep your children happy. So, if you’re looking for a quick, low-key outing, be sure to check it out!

Intel Museum

Is your family crazy about the latest technology? Would you jump at the chance to learn more about your favorite tech?

If so, visit the Intel Museum in Santa Clara. Located on Mission College Boulevard, this museum features 10,000 square feet of exciting, interactive learning for both children and adults.

If you want to plan a trip, be sure you call ahead of time and verify their hours – they close on occasion to host private events.

Achieva Climbing

Located in Campbell, this rock climbing wall is perfect for learning focus/drive and getting into good shape. It has three stations and allows for three climbers on the wall simultaneously.

Best of all, the wall is mobile, so you can rent it and have the owner transport the wall to your own event! That means it’s perfect for giving everyone in the family something fun to do at your next weekend family get-together.

Silicon Valley Bubble Soccer

Ever heard of bubble soccer before?

It’s a great team-building activity and involves playing soccer in a whole new way. More specifically, players are each enclosed in a giant bubble.

According to the Silicon Valley Bubble Soccer website, “the object of the game is to score while bumping into players on the other team. It’s a hilarious sport that will have you rolling on the ground – literally.”

And yes – they have smaller bubbles available for children, although they do suggest a minimum height of 4’11” for the best bubble soccer experience.

To get started, you need to decide how many hours you want to play. Then, you can rent 10 bubble suits (or more – each additional suit adds $20/hour to the total cost), a soccer ball, a referee, and soccer goals. You can learn about the packages available here.

Because each rental covers at least 10 people, this could be a perfect activity for your next big family gathering!

Whatever you do, make sure you bring some water, a towel, and maybe even some knee pads for yourself and your loved ones. You’re sure to have a fun time!

Central Park

Make no mistake – this 52-acre park is impressive, and it has something to offer everyone in your family.

Here are some of the things you can do at the park:

  • Play tennis on the lighted tennis courts
  • Play a game of basketball on the courts
  • Enjoy the 30,000-square-foot Community Recreation Center
  • Enjoy lawn bowling
  • Host a picnic in one of the large group picnic areas

The park also features a playground, an amphitheater, and more, making it perfect for a fun-filled day of playing sports or just relaxing in nature!

War Memorial Playground

Normally, giant ants are only seen in horror movies or books. But at this park, you’ll see giant ants all over the place!

But don’t worry – these aren’t real ants. They’re just cute sculptures of giant ants your kids can play on. This ant-themed playground even features an ant hill sculpture!

And of course, War Memorial Playground features more traditional playground equipment too, including slides and swings.

You can hang out in the picnic areas, turf areas, or on one of the park benches and watch your kids explore and use their imagination at this ant-themed park!

Ulistac Natural Area

Located along the Guadalupe River across the street from Lick Mill Park in Santa Clara, this area has been called a “hidden gem” by a Google reviewer and boasts 40 acres of open space. It’s perfect if you want to immerse yourself in nature and go for a relaxing walk with your family.

You can also enjoy bird-watching and check out the wide range of native plants in the area.

If you visit this attraction, make sure you check out the Guadalupe River Trail. It’s perfect for a leisurely stroll or a quick cardio workout. And hey, make sure you bring Fido too – Ulistac Natural Area is a great place to take the dog for a walk!

Hackworth IMAX Dome
